Here are answers to the more frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered here, please send us an email us or give us a call at (855) 552-7762.
How do I receive POST credit for the classes I attend?
Simply attend the class for the complete session. ARPOC staff will validate your attendance by scanning your conference badge at the beginning and end of each class. A completion certificate will be mailed to you about two-weeks after the Conference. POST will also be notified of your training completion, which will be reflected on your POST Profile (for active peace officer attendees only). The classes provide POST-certified training that fulfills the requirement of 24 hours of POST-qualifying training during every two-year Continuing Professional Training (CPT) cycle.
Do I need to attend the entire class to receive POST credit?
POST Regulations require you be present for 90% of the class. Our instructors have designed the class material to fill the entire time period. Aside from the scheduled breaks, you are expected to be present for the entire time the class is in session. There is no credit for partial attendance. Your conference badge must be scanned at the beginning and end of each class for credit. Please keep in mind that the majority of instructors have donated their time to provide you with training they believe is important for your safety and knowledge. Hopefully you will thank them with your courtesy by being on time for the class and by remaining for the entire session.
Do I need to provide any special equipment or supplies for my class?
When you receive your Registration Confirmation indicating you have a reservation to attend the class you selected, you will also receive notification of any items you will need to provide. A tablet or laptop would be good if you are comfortable working with them (not required for most classes). If you need to bring your duty weapon and ammunition and are planning to fly to the conference, please check with your airline and TSA to determine their regulations.
What should I do with my weapon when I am not using it for training?
Exposed firearms are prohibited for non-uniformed persons, except when traveling directly to or from a firearms training facility. We suggest that you bring a lockable storage container so your weapon is not readily accessible when it is not in your possession and to comply with state law.
I am completely registered for the conference but I cannot attend. What should I do?
The refund guidelines are indicated above in the Conference Registration section. You may also seek someone to replace you at the conference. Attendee substitutions will be permitted with written authorization of the payer at no additional expense.
I am registered for a class but have decided I would like to attend a different class. What should I do?
Registration simply secures you a reservation for the class. If you make the decision to substitute a class, please send an email with the details of your requested change and you will be notified as to whether the change can be completed. You may also check for class availability at the time of the conference, if space is available you may simply go to the new class. Make sure you are scanned in/out at the start and end of the class. If the class you wish to attend is off-site (e.g. Firearms Training), bring the required equipment with you and report to the bus loading area one hour prior to start of the class. If there is space available you will be allowed on the bus by the conference host on a first-come, first-selected basis.
Can I purchase additional tickets for the Awards Luncheon on Friday?
Conference attendees attend the Awards Luncheon at no additional cost. Additional tickets may be purchased for family members or other guests during online registration. The cost is $55 per ticket. Alternatively, you may purchase tickets at the Conference, if space allows.
Is there a dress code for the conference?
Leisure clothing is suggested for most of the conference. Some classes may require special dress and equipment. Please check for these requirements on your Registration Confirmation. No exposed weapons, unless you are in full uniform.
