Jeff Nocket joined the Los Angeles Police Department’s Reserve Officer Corps in 1989 and served 32 years until retiring in 2022. His duties included uniformed patrol, special events, unusual occurrences, riots, fires, earthquakes, and all the other things that make up life in a big city. In 2005 Jeff became a founding member of the Reserve Motor Unit, the first-ever team of highly motivated and trained reserve motor officers. As a motor officer Jeff saw duty throughout the city, including strike team activities during numerous unusual occurrences. Jeff also served as an “R7” Divisional Liaison between the Reserve Corps and the West Traffic Division command staff. Jeff was the divisional Reserve Officer of the Year on two occasions during his career.

Upon retirement from the LAPD, and having moved to the Sierra Nevada mountains near Yosemite National Park, Jeff traded his blues for green and tan, became a Reserve Deputy with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office where he continues to work uniformed patrol and search and rescue duties.

Jeff worked 35 years as an aerospace engineer for Hughes Aircraft and The Boeing Company, designing and building satellites for commercial and government customers. Jeff retired from Boeing in 2015 as a Program Manager after 35 years in the industry. Jeff continues his engagement in aerospace as a consultant specializing in proposal management serving large and small government contractors.

Jeff has a Bachelors Degree in mechanical Engineering from California State University, Northridge and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Domingues Hills. Jeff also has a Certificate in Construction Management from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Jeff is a past president of local Rotary club and currently serves on its Board of Directors.

Jeff is married to Heather and they have three adult sons and three labrador retrievers.
