On Saturday, May 9, 2026, reserve officers from across the Bay Area came together at the SFPD Academy for the first-ever Bay Area Reserve Officer Conference (BAROC)and it was an incredible day. Hosted under the CRPOA banner in partnership with the Broadmoor Police Department and the San Francisco Police Department, BAROC delivered a full day of peer connection, operational training, and direct conversation with agency leadership, all under one roof.
From the moment doors opened, the energy was unmistakable. Officers who had never met traded stories and hard-won lessons, instructors ran real, hands-on training in the Academy’s own facilities, and agency leaders sat down face-to-face with the reserves who keep their programs running. It was the kind of day that reminded everyone why this work matters, and why doing it together makes the whole region stronger.
