ARPOC 2026: Tools, Tactics & Technology for the Front Line

From August 11 to 14, 2026, California’s reserve law enforcement community gathered at Margaritaville Resort in South Lake Tahoe for the Annual Reserve Peace Officers Conference. Reserve officers, coordinators, search and rescue members, and law enforcement volunteers from agencies across the state came together for four days of POST-certified training, recognition, and connection.

ARPOC 2026 delivered a full 24 hours of Continuing Professional Training in a single event, taught by working practitioners and built for the realities reserves face on the street today.

Moments That Defined the Conference

Opening General Session and Awards
The conference opened Tuesday with the plenary session and the presentation of the 2026 ARPOC Awards, honoring the reserve officers, search and rescue members, and volunteers whose service sets the standard for the profession.

Hands-On Tactics
Room Clearing for Reserves put officers through live scenario work, while the two-day ARIDE certification and SFST training sharpened impaired-driving detection skills that go straight back to the field.

Investigations and Interviewing
Tactical Interviewing Using Behavioral Indicators and Reserve Cold Case Investigations gave attendees practical tools for reading people and reopening cases.

Technology and Emerging Threats
Drone Deployment for Law Enforcement and Terrorism Liaison Officer Certification kept the program true to its theme, connecting front-line reserves with the technology and intelligence tools reshaping modern policing.

Leadership and Community
Violence in the House of Worship, Accountability in Leadership, and the Reserve Coordinator Certification track rounded out the week, alongside Wednesday’s social mixer with exhibitors and CRPOA board members.

A Stronger Reserve Community

Every class, conversation, and award reinforced the same message: California’s reserve peace officers are trained, committed professionals who are essential to public safety. Thank you to every attendee, instructor, exhibitor, and sponsor who made ARPOC 2026 possible.
